Antalya in Winter
Winter is not a swimming season in Antalya, but it is a very good one for sightseeing, golf and low prices.
What to expect
- Air temperatures are typically around 9–17 °C and the sea around 16–18 °C: too cool for most swimmers.
- Rain is more likely than in summer, so bring a rain jacket and a warm layer for evenings.
- Hotel rates are lowest from November to March, and beaches and attractions are quiet.
What to do
- Sightseeing: Kaleiçi, Aspendos, Perge and Termessos are comfortable in cool weather.
- Golf: Belek courses are busiest from October to April.
- Skiing: Saklıkent ski centre is about an hour from the city; the season usually runs from late December to April depending on the weather, and the chairlift reaches 2,500 m.
- Relax: Turkish bath (hamam) and spa days are a good choice on rainy days.
Is it worth it?
Yes, if you want culture, golf, quiet and good value. If you want a beach and swimming, choose late May to early October.
