Car Hire in Antalya: Tips
A rental car gives freedom for day trips, but a few checks save money and stress.
Before you rent
- Check which driving licence you need and whether an international permit is required, from official sources and the rental company.
- Compare insurance options and what excess you pay in case of damage.
- Ask about the deposit, usually held on a credit card.
- Read the fuel policy; full-to-full is the simplest.
At pick-up
- Photograph all existing damage and have it noted on the contract.
- Check tyres, lights and air conditioning.
- Ask how motorway tolls are charged and whether the car has a toll tag.
On the road
- Traffic drives on the right; follow speed limits and watch for speed cameras.
- Parking in busy areas can be hard; ask your hotel.
- If you only want airport and beach trips, a transfer or taxi is often simpler than a rental.
